Melania Horowitz (Class of 2022), Captain of Columbia University Taekwondo, represented Columbia at the 2024 NCTA National Collegiate Championships for Taekwondo. The event was hosted at UC Berkeley and included more than 700 athletes across all divisions. In her world class black belt division, Melania earned a bronze medal and her spot on the winners podium, becoming a Collegiate National Championship medalist! Congratulations - so proud!!

Our students perform in a series of short French theatrical pieces - our annual "l'Atelier d'art Dramatique" at Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz. A huge thank you to Mr Leloup and the talented actors! Stay tuned as more student performances are happening throughout Spring!

AP African American Studies students were thrilled to be invited to a “Meet the Author” luncheon at the Jonathan Club, where they were also honored with a tour of this historical landmark. The author, Jonathan Eig, gave a special recognition to Le Lycée in his introduction before discussing his New York Times bestseller, "King: A Life". This is the first major biography of Martin Luther King Jr. in 40 years. Afterwards, students enthusiastically posed questions and had their books signed. Thanks for a wonderful event!

Lycée students, and administration paused their daily routines to watch (either via the NASA live feed or through safety glasses) the partial eclipse where roughly 50% of the sun was blocked out by the moon.

As part of Semaine de la presse/Press and Media week, FSP Lycée students, created a 40-minute radio program. Students wrote chronicles and familiarized themselves with equipment. The broadcast from the Lycée Français de Los Angeles concluded the AEFE web radio week. Congratulations to all the students, teachers and parents involved, the result is worthy of the greatest media professionals!

We were delighted to welcome the French Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Laurent Bili with Julie Duhaut-Bedos, Lycée parent and Consule générale à Los Angeles. They engaged in discussions with our senior BFI students and toured the high school campus.
